Warding Off Crossword Answers
Have you ever been at work, bored and whiny about not being able to solve the crosswords that have been posted on your Wall? Boredom with the crossword puzzles has turned into a national pastime and in fact it has become one of the main reasons why people prefer reading books to watching television. However, what most people don’t realise is that solving the crosswords does not require you to possess any special powers of the mind. And if you are like me then you would be glad to know that the answer is right there in the middle of this article.
If you analyse it, the reason why people don’t like the crossword puzzle is not because they are incapable of solving it but because it is too easy. They would like it a little harder than it really is. The simple truth is that when it comes to the real life challenges of life, no one is born knowing how to properly problem solve. The good news is that if you want to solve the crossword puzzles, all you need is patience and time.
When I was younger, I used to like trying to solve the crosswords by myself. I would spend hours trashing around the house until I managed to get my words together. It was very demoralising and something that I didn’t think much about. Now, when I’m older and wiser, I realise that it isn’t the best approach as it will leave you more frustrated than when you started. I’ve tried countless times to tackle the crossword without success but I wasn’t prepared to give up.
Instead, I would come up with interesting ideas and ‘machines’ that I could use to my advantage. For example, I’d notice that words that go together tend to come up together when they are used in pairs. So I would choose two words that I found I’d often come across in a crossword, and pair them up. For example, I might choose ‘harry brown’ and ‘green’.
By fitting words together, I made it much easier for me to solve the crosswords. However, I still ended up getting frustrated because it took so long to get the results right. Sometimes I would find I had made mistakes when I put the wrong words in the wrong place. Sometimes I would wrongly identify an important word or phrase within the puzzle. I would also have to spend a lot of time on Google to find other crossword solutions.
Then, a few years ago, I came across an e-book by someone called Tony Hill that explained how he used his own tricks to work out the best crossword answer. I hadn’t heard of him before and was sceptical about his methods. However, after reading through his e-book I was persuaded to give it a go and see what he had to say.
